After years of longing and more than a decade since his last performance for the Mother City, American R&B legend Kenny Lattimore is returning to South African shores for a magical one-night only show this September.

The Grammy-nominated singer and Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame inductee will take to the stage at Grand Arena, Grand West on Sunday, 20 September 2026 and it is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated live music events of the year.

A Voice Cape Town Has Been Waiting For

Kenny Lattimore is not just a name in R&B he is an institution. With a career spanning decade, eight studio albums, and two collaborative albums to his name, Lattimore has built a catalogue of timeless music that has soundtracked love stories, weddings, and late-night slow dances the world over. His smooth, soulful voice carries a warmth that feels both intimate and grand, which is precisely why a live Kenny Lattimore experience is unlike any other.

Cape Town’s fanbase has kept the flame burning for years, and that loyalty has finally been rewarded. Audiences can look forward to being serenaded by beloved hits including For You, Never Too Busy, All My Tomorrows, When I Said I Do, Weekend, Stay On Your Mind, and so much more.

An Evening to Remember

The show promises to be a celebration of R&B at its finest the kind of evening where every song feels personal, every lyric resonates, and the atmosphere wraps around you like a warm embrace. Grand Arena, Grand West provides the perfect setting for an artist of Kenny Lattimore’s calibre, offering an intimate yet electric concert experience for Cape Town music lovers.

Vertex Events’ Artist Liaison, Thato Mokoena, captured the excitement well: “As an R&B fan-favourite, Kenny Lattimore is an exciting artist for us to bring back to South Africa for the Cape Town crowd a crowd he has not performed for in a long while. As a team, we look forward to a show that will be one to remember for a long time.”

It is a sentiment that will undoubtedly be echoed by every fan walking through those doors.
