Nine years after she introduced herself to South African music lovers with #SongsAboutYou,celebrated singer and songwriter Thabsie has returned and she's done it in true surprise-drop fashion.

Born Bathabise Vokwana, the musician, entrepreneur and digital content creator known to her fans simply as Thabsie has stepped back into the spotlight with a brand-new EP, *While You Wait*. The project follows her November 2025 single "Again" and arrives as a teaser ahead of her long-awaited sophomore album, released independently through her own label, Song Bird Entertainment.

An Emotional Roller Coaster, Set to R&B

While You Wait* leans into the messy, magnetic pull of romantic love the kind that keeps you tethered to a relationship you know isn't good for you. It's an EP built on tension: the head that knows better fighting the heart that won't let go. That push and pull runs through every track, giving the project an emotional honesty that longtime fans of Thabsie's storytelling will recognise instantly.

Musically, the EP pulls from a rich mix of influences. It interpolates the early-2000s house classic "Once Again" by Harrison Crump, while also weaving in homegrown favourites Mina Nawe's "Where I Should Be" and DJ Tira's "Won't Let Go." The result is a project that feels both nostalgic and distinctly current.

There's also a standout surprise: award-winning hip-hop star Emtee features on the opening track, "Good Time," setting the tone for the EP right from the first note.

A Homecoming, On Her Own Terms

For Thabsie, this comeback is deeply personal. It marks another chapter in a journey defined by doing things her own way melodically telling stories of love, womanhood, and everything in between, exactly as she's envisioned them.

While You Wait is available now on all major music streaming platforms.
