Rosebank Mall's Pink Run Is Chasing a Record And a Very Specific Number
Some community events grow by accident. The Pink Run at Rosebank Mall has grown by design and the numbers tell the story clearly. What started as a modest gathering of around 900 people in 2023 pulled in 3,100 participants last year, raising R66,000 for CANSA in the process. This year, organisers aren't just hoping to build on that they've set an explicit, public target: 3,500 runners and R100,000 raised for this year's beneficiary, breast health organisation I Love Boobies.

The math is straightforward and, in its own way, motivating: roughly 400 more people on the start line than last year could be the difference that pushes the event to its biggest fundraising result yet. It's the kind of framing that turns an individual decision to register into something that visibly contributes to a collective goal.
The event itself returns on Saturday, 24 October, at 7am a 5km route through Rosebank designed to be genuinely inclusive of ability and intent. Runners chasing a personal best, walkers there for the community atmosphere, families with kids in tow, friendship groups and entire office teams are all part of the intended turnout, and the format is built to accommodate all of them without friction.

Entry is priced accessibly: R100 for adults, R80 for children, with every ticket contributing a portion directly to I Love Boobies. For anyone who wants to give more than their entry fee covers, an additional donation option is available at checkout a small design choice that turns the booking process itself into a fundraising touchpoint rather than a separate ask.
There's also an incentive layered on top. Every ticket holder is automatically entered into a draw for a R25,000 family experience at The Hyde Rosebank a two-night weekend stay in a Platinum Double Room for two adults and two children, including breakfast and a R1,000 dinner voucher at Proud Mary, valid through to the end of December 2026.

Beyond the fundraising target, the event carries a clear secondary purpose: keeping breast cancer awareness visibly present in the community calendar, and creating space to acknowledge the many families whose lives have been touched by the illness. "We have watched this grow from around 900 people in 2023 into an event that 3,100 people supported last year, and that says a great deal about the generosity of our community," says Rosebank Mall Marketing Manager Angelisa Gengan. "This year the goal is to build on that support and raise R100,000 for I Love Boobies."
Tickets (R100 adults / R80 children) are available now at rosebankmall.co.za.
