Season 6 of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) is here, and Pretoria is hosting. Backed by the NBA and FIBA, the BAL is the continent's premier club basketball competition, and this edition is shaping up to be its most significant yet.
SunBet Arena hosts the Kalahari Conference from 27 March to 5 April, featuring five clubs: Al Ahly Ly (Libya), Dar City (Tanzania, making history as the first-ever Tanzanian BAL team), Nairobi City Thunder (Kenya), Petro de Luanda (Angola's reigning champions), and the Johannesburg Giants a South African team stepping onto a BAL court for the very first time, in their own backyard.
From here, the tournament travels to Rabat for the Sahara Conference (24 April – 3 May), before culminating at BK Arena in Kigali for the Playoffs and Finals from 22–31 May 2026.
Every ticket to the Pretoria leg includes free entry to the BAL Fan Zone, the cultural layer that wraps around the sport and makes the whole thing feel like an event, not just a game.
Africa's most prestigious basketball tournament is on our doorstep.
