News Cafe Brings the Vibe to the Winelands
A new Somerset West outpost at The Sanctuary Shopping Centre adds Helderberg views to a day-into-night menu.
Likers of Things

The Helderberg has never lacked for charm: mountain light, historic wine estates, a table always laid somewhere. Now it gains a venue built to keep the energy going from first coffee to last song. News Cafe opens its newest destination at The Sanctuary Shopping Centre in Somerset West this week.
The brand has designed the space to move with the day. Mornings begin with coffee and breakfast, and lunch follows. As the light drops there are cocktails and sundowners, then the late-night pulse that is the brand's signature. Contemporary food, inventive cocktails, music and entertainment share one room, suited to a quiet catch-up or a full-blown celebration.
The opening is the brand's second in the Cape Town region, and the fourth new store News Cafe has opened this year. "We're incredibly excited about the pace at which News Cafe is growing," says Managing Executive Ryan Pellatt. "Somerset West has an incredible lifestyle, food and wine culture, and we see massive potential here."
The arrival will be formally toasted on Friday, 9 October, with an exclusive launch evening for influencers, lifestyle personalities and invited guests, featuring food, cocktails, music and entertainment. For the wider public, the doors are open to a venue that wants to become a regular haunt.
