What to Expect on the 40th Anniversary Calendar

Forty Doors Absa L'Atelier Art Legacy Event ( took place on 12 September 2026): Hosted at Nine Yards in Johannesburg, this showcase honours traditional, indigenous, and contemporary Pan-African art, highlighting the platform’s role in shaping the continent's cultural economy.

Absa L’Atelier Art and Lifestyle Fair (10 October 2026): Bringing outdoor family vibes to Waterfall City Park in Midrand, this annual event mixes visual art with interactive craft workshops, food stalls, and live music performances from top local artists. The festival will culminate in the announcement of the 2026 competition winners and Ambassadors.

Continental Masterclasses: Running across several African cities, these educational sessions break down the business of art, offering emerging artists strategies on brand-building and giving investors fresh insight into market trends.

A Stellar Lineup of Solo Exhibitions

Winning an Absa L’Atelier award comes with up to R100,000 in exhibition support, allowing artists to keep most of their sales proceeds while sharing personal narratives with the public.
