Likers of Things

GRAMMY-nominated East African vocalist-songwriter Somi has released Sometimes Love, the latest single from her upcoming album. Take to Bloom?*, out 7 August via Salon Africana. Recorded in Lagos alongside Nigerian sibling duo The Cavemen., its a groove-heavy track built for keeping your heart open.
The Inspiration
This song is about keeping an open heart and the possibility of finding love in all its forms at any moment in our journey, Somi says of the single, which trades in the same intoxicating warmth as the city where it was recorded.
What to Expect From the Album
Co-produced by The Cavemen's Benjamin James, *What Does It Take to Bloom?* was written and recorded across Dakar, Lagos, Paris and New York.

Where Somis past work has mapped migration and memory across Africa and America, this record turns inward - an intimate meditation on change, growth and self-discovery. It follows the lead single; We;re All Falling, a song confronting mortality that Somi wrote during a season of personal loss.
