MPHO.WAV has given fans a first taste of his sophomore album with two singles released together on Friday, 9 October: “Morwa Masingilo” with Thakzin and Nelia, and “Mamano” with Shimza.
Different in energy but part of the same world, the pair preview The Wav, due on 30 November 2026 through Platoon. The follow-up to his debut, Book of Wav, builds on a sound that blends Afro-house, deep house, jazz, soul and gospel.

“Morwa Masingilo” is a joyful celebration of new life and community. It was inspired by a TikTok video of Nelia surrounded by loved ones celebrating a birth, and it draws on the Xitsonga phrase “Amutaswivona kwe!”, meaning “Behold, a new generation is born.” Traditional African rhythms meet an uplifting dance sound.
“Mamano” is built for the floor. Centred on the Xitsonga phrase “Teka Mamano!” (“Here, take it”), it pairs powerful vocal chants with driving rhythms and an energetic drop. The link-up with Shimza carries extra weight for MPHO.WAV, who has long admired the DJ’s ability to move crowds and carry South African electronic music to global stages.

Both singles are streaming on all major platforms, and The Wav is available to pre-add now.
