Club Controller: Abidoza's new eight-track EP

The producer known for smooth, soulful Amapiano has swapped velvet for voltage. Abidoza's new eight-track EP, Club Controller, puts DJs and the dancefloor at the centre, and it is out now on all major streaming platforms.

Likers of Things

The EP follows two singles released in September: "Club What" with Djy Vino, and "Chomi", with Djy Vino and KMAT featuring Trixx. Together they previewed a more energetic side of the multi-platinum producer, one that moves between streaming, DJ sets and club floors. The full project widens the circle, adding Calvin Fallo, Tumza D'kota and EI. Stephano to the collaborators already heard.

It is a notable turn for an artist best known for records such as "Baby Boy", "Siyathandana" and "Dinaledi". "Each track has its own vibe, and having these different artists come into the mix made the project even more exciting," Abidoza said. "I can't wait for people to get into it, for DJs to pick up the tracks and for the music to find its way onto the dancefloor."

Tracklist:

  1. Batlore Tswenya (feat. Tumza D'kota)

  2. Club What, Abidoza & Djy Vino

  3. Controller, Abidoza & EI. Stephano

  4. Chomi, Abidoza, Djy Vino & KMAT (feat. Trixx)

  5. Skoko

  6. City Rains (feat. Calvin Fallo)

  7. Organic Roots

  8. Just Like That (feat. Tumza D'kota)

Born Amogelang Thorne Chabangu in Marokolong, Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, Abidoza has spent more than a decade in the industry as a producer, songwriter and musical arranger. Nationwide recognition came in 2018 with "Baby Boy", followed by his 2019 debut album, Musical Touch. Projects include Black Child, Pianochella and What's The Levol, and his collaborators range from Cassper Nyovest, Major League and Focalistic to Davido and CKay. In 2022 he launched the annual Abidoza One Man Show, which has drawn more than 6,000 attendees.
