Boipelo beat out a strong shortlist that included Lebo Maoela (Lesedi FM), Lerato Kganyago (Metro FM), Bolele Polisa (947) and Lebo Ndiya (Motsweding FM) to secure the win a moment she says reflects years of hard work and the support of the people behind her.

She currently hosts 5 After Hours on 5FM, airing Monday to Thursday from 10PM to 1AM, and also brings her energy to 5FM's Vibe Check as digital host and producer.

Boipelo shared her excitement following the win:

A Look at Boipelo's Journey

Boipelo's broadcasting career began in 2017 at VOW FM, where she hosted the weekday show Area Code before moving on to host The VOW Top 40 Chart Show. She later gained freelance experience at YFM ahead of her commercial radio breakthrough in 2021.

Beyond radio, she's become a go-to MC for major events, including:

As a voice artist, her credits include campaigns for ABSA Jasiri Awards, Nedbank, Aquafresh, SABC, BT Ngebz City and Trace Africa. Her digital and live event coverage for 5FM spans major platforms like Ultra South Africa, Zee Nation Fest, The Hip Hop Floor and Never Rush A Sunday.

She's also worked behind the scenes as a Junior Producer on the ABSA Champagne Festival (2025) and the ABSA Jasiri Awards, and her production credits extend to SABC shows Muvhango and Giyani: Land of Blood.

An AFDA and Phakama Women's Academy graduate, Boipelo previously won Radio Personality of the Year at the Northern Cape Awards (2021), has been a three-time South African Radio Awards nominee, and once hosted the Northern Cape Awards herself (2020).
