Festival of India
16 March 2018
India is a place where color is doubly bright. Pinks that scald your eyes, blues you could drown in. – Kiran Millwood Hargrave
We have all probably, on many occasions, been influenced by the colours, food, and culture of India (we are obviously on the food side)! India is rich in ways we can’t possibly imagine and this March, we get to experience an extravaganza of authentic Indian lifestyle, fashion, culture, and cuisine at the Festival Of India at Montecasino.
The kaleidoscope of colours, cultures, goods, and flavours on offer will take your breath away. See and buy an assortment of merchandise from across India including Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai, Agra, Jaipur, Pakistan, Rajasthan, Gujarat and much more. It will truly be like stepping into India, as all exhibitors will be coming from India itself to display their wares and delight your senses.
“If there is one place on the face of earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India.” – Romain Rolland
The Festival of India is going to be an annual event that South African and African Indian communities can look forward to. It is a lifestyle, food and cultural extravaganza with truly authentic exhibitors and performers.
Bollywood in Johannesburg is what you will experience fashion-wise at the Festival of India. Exhibitors will be showcasing some of the latest and most intricate of Indian fashion and jewellery designs. You’ll find intricately detailed and exquisite saris, perfectly cut and styled Punjabis, or even the bridal gown of your dreams. Walk the lanes of Montecasino, taking in the sights and sounds of true Indian fashions and accessories including prayer items, religious statues, astrological assortments, and much more.
